Tatlock & Thomson Ltd expanded significantly their microbiology testing division some years ago by acquiring Telferton laboratories in Edinburgh. In April 2003, this microbiology testing division was redesignated as Express Microbiology Ltd and now employs 5 microbiologists and three assistants. The operation runs 7 days a week 365 days a year out of new laboratories in Linlithgow, West Lothian.

The laboratories are modern and fully equipped and can process up to 500 samples per day.

Express microbiology Ltd also assists food processors with food safety and quality assurance systems. Tatlock and Thomson Ltd is an approved centre forThe Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland's elementary course in food hygiene. We also provide professional instruction in the implementation and auditing of hazard analyses and critical control point safety assurance.
